The mission of Bethany Hill School, a living and learning community of neighbors, is to provide independent, affordable housing with educational opportunities within a climate of respect, inclusion, and acceptance.   Residents are empowered to progress toward their goals and be their best selves in a safe, supportive environment.

Bethany Hill School residents - all of whom are low-income and from diverse backgrounds - demonstrate a willingness to address difficult personal issues and circumstances. They are guided and nurtured in their quest for change and growth by a small but committed group of staff and volunteers who encourage positive life choices and personal accountability.

Residents face a range of challenges including:

• Homelessness resulting from a combination of factors

• Lack of vocational ability/training to provide adequate financial support

• Physical and mental disabilities

• Background of substance abuse

• HIV/AIDS diagnoses
