ow do we measure success? One of the unique challenges at Bethany is that the definition of "success" can be as varied as the individuals and families served.
BHS residents are very diverse and come from a multitude of backgrounds and life
experience - so what may be a meaningful goal for an individual or family, may have no relevance for another. Some resident goals may include:

Family stabilization and unification

Employment stability and
advancement

Effective parenting skills

Educational/vocational achievements

Progress in peaceful conflict resolution

Obtaining a driver's license

Stability and longevity in recovery
programs

Purchase of a car

Gainful employment

First time home ownership

"I'm a former resident of Bethany Hill. I lived here
for five years. Now I'm gainfully employed at a biotech
company. I thank God for the opportunity I had to live
in this unique community - this was really my first
home in recovery. For anyone who has any dreams or
goals they really want to pursue and if they're really
serious about their education, this is the place to be."
-Vicki, former resident

"I love the parenting group because it taught me
how to parent. I was a teenage mom so I didn't
know how to be a parent. But I'm really proud to
say that I learned. I get a lot of compliments on
my kids and I have to say I don't take all the credit
because Bethany Hill had a lot to do with it.
My children have been involved in Young People's
Group, arts and crafts, summer camps, a
self-esteem group and tutoring - so many things
that helped them to be the really good children
that you see today."
- Carla, former resident
