Our 2017 Spring Gala on Thursday, April 27th was a terrific success! The event was held at the Gardens at Elm bank in Wellesley with veteran Boston TV newswoman and breast cancer advocate Kelley Tuthill as MC. The evening felt like a reunion among residents, staff, CSJs, volunteers, donors and friends who filled the Carriage House and tent.
Our Honorees, David & Edlyn Clay, paid tribute to Bethany Hill Place's values in a speech marked by a personal story of gratitude, and listened in awe as former Bethany Hill Place resident told his story of growing up for 7 years at Bethany Hill and how being part of a larger 'family' here helped to guide him down the right path. He is now married, a homeowner, and after military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, continues to serve his community as a Police Officer. As a successful, fully engaged member of his community, he is an amazing example of the lived values of Bethany Hill Place.
The funds raised at the Spring Gala account for more than one half of our annual program budget! To date, a combined $88K has been received from sponsorships, ticket sales, silent auction, raffle, mystery bags and 'raise the paddle' proceeds.
